Why do Metal Gates Vary so Much in Price?

Buy Online Today

At this time of year, we get a lot of enquiries asking the million-dollar question of “I want a new gate, how much is it?

Now in essence this seems a pretty straight forward question however as there are many variables that can influence the price of a gate it is difficult to give an exact figure without more detailed information. Factors such as the size of the opening, the height required, the design, the specification of the steel and the finish all play a role in the price you should expect to pay and as such what may be affordable to one person may be very expensive for another therefore shopping on price alone is never really a great idea.

Despite the many variables that ultimately affect the price of a gate, we have decided to make things easier for you when doing general research by compiling a list of example prices below. To keep things simple, we have kept the width the same across each of the styles.

Conclusion

We hope you now understand why it is very difficult to give an accurate price when asked the question how much is a new gate? As shown the price can vary significantly when making the comparison based on the specification of the gate alone so when you factor in all the other variables such as height, design, finish etc aswell the prices can vary significantly.

However to keep things simple for you, the easiest way to make a comparison is that the more the gate costs the higher the grade of steel will used in its construction so if you want something that is for low security / decorative purposes go for a lightweight option but if you need a solution that will provide a higher level of security or needs to span a larger opening we always recommend that you select a design with heavier duty components.
