Q: What is the Expected Lifespan?
A: The gates are professionally treated to resist rust and corrosion and won't bend, deform, or distort. They are virtually maintenance-free, and a 5-year manufacturer's warranty backs every product.
Q: What is the Correct Size Gate for my Opening?
A: For optimum performance, the opening should be 30mm bigger than the physical width of a pedestrian gate and 30mm - 60mm wider than the physical width of the driveway gates.
Q: Are Made to Measure Sizes Available?
A: We can offer made-to-measure widths; however, we cannot adjust the above heights. Unfortunately, we cannot provide non-standard sizes for any arched designs.
Q: What is the Maintenance Like for Aluminum Gates?
A: The only care required for aluminum is the occasional cleaning with soap and warm water using nothing more than a sponge, followed by a rinse.
Q: What Function do the Floor-Mounted Hinges Serve?
A: If you use aluminium posts, you must use floor-mounted hinges because you cannot attach wall-mounted hinges to the bottom of the aluminum posts.
Q: How Should the Aluminium Posts be Installed?
A: Aluminum posts may either be concreted into the ground or screwed down using the base plate into a solid surface.
Q: How Should the Hinges be Attached to the Posts?
A: Unfortunately, wall-mounted hinges are unsuitable at the bottom of aluminum posts due to a lack of access to secure the fixing bolts. In comparison, as you have access to the top of the post, you may tighten the nut and bolt fixing to attach the top hinges.
Q: Can Existing Posts be Used?
A: Yes, you can use the existing posts that you already have. You can easily install the gates onto them provided they are structurally sound, are the appropriate size and are not damaged.
Q: Are Matching Fence Panels Available?
A: Currently, we are unable to provide aluminum fencing.
Q: How Deep are the Gates?
A: Pedestrian gates have a thickness of 45mm, and the double driveway gates are 55mm.
Q: What Comes with the Gates?
A: The double driveway gates include 2 x floor-mounted hinges and 4 x wall-mounted hinges. In addition, other items are also available such as a lock and handle, drop bolts, and a floor stop. Aluminium garden gates include 2 x adjustable wall-mounted hinges and 1 x floor-mounted hinge, 1 x lock and handle (with keys) 1 x receiver plate.
Q: Is it Feasible to Automate the Driveway Gates?
A: You can install most gate operator types on our double-swing driveway gates. These will need to be purchased elsewhere as we are not involved with gate automation.
Q: Are Sliding Aluminium Gates Available?
A: Yes - these are available.
Q: Can You Install the Garden Gates Left or Right-Hand Hanging?
A: The hinges and lock are universal, so they can be mounted on either side of the opening to suit your requirements.
Q: Is it Possible to Make 2 Pedestrian Gates Work as a Pair?
A: It is common for customers to be interested in using two gates as a pair; however, they do have the capacity to cater for this.
