The Winchester Metal Driveway Gates are handmade in the UK to a high standard and are available to buy online to suit openings ranging from 7ft 6" - 12ft. They are built from solid steel components to provide a robust feel, whilst the decorative wrought iron style scrollwork adds a traditional design element. • Double gates feature 20mm x 8mm frames, 10mm solid metal infill bars and 10mm x 3mm scrolls.

• Supplied with adjustable hinges, latch and drop bolt.

• Winchester driveway gates come in black primer ready for you to paint them to the colour of your choice before you install them.

• 920mm (3ft) + top scrolls

Ordering Sizes

• Width (Fits Opening): This refers to the opening size that the gates will fit into (including the space required for the hinges and latch). You do not need to make any other allowances. To avoid any confusion, this means that if your brickwork opening size is 10ft, you should order the gates to "fit opening 10ft".

• Height (once installed): This measurement includes an allowance of 50mm (2") for ground clearance and is measured from ground level to the top horizontal frame. The scrollwork above this has not been included. 

Do You Require Metal Posts?

If you are not installing between existing brickwork or other support structures, metal posts will be required. Please remember that you will need additional space for the posts, so make sure this is factored in when placing an order.

Example: Winchester double metal gates that "fit an opening" of 8ft 6" combined with 2 x 2" posts will require a total overall space of 8ft 10".

Useful Information About the Winchester 3ft High Driveway Gates

Fittings: Each pair of gates includes the surface-mounted hinges, latch fitting and drop bolt. Screws to attach the hinge brackets to your brickwork or posts are not included.

Posts: Any metal posts used during installation must be of the correct size to provide the required level of support. They should be set into the ground and supported with concrete.

Installation: You must only fix the hinges to existing brickwork (or other support structure) provided it can sufficiently support the weight of the gates. For more information, please take a look at the installation guide.

Width: As detailed above, this is the width of the opening you will need to have. It is not the physical width of the gates. For clarity, please click here.

Painting: Winchester wrought iron style driveway gates are primed black (undercoat). You must paint all metal surfaces before you complete the installation to ensure the proper level of protection against rust and corrosion. Alternatively, please get in touch if you want to upgrade to our low maintenance zinc plated (electro galvanised) and black powder-coated paint finish. We will be happy to provide you with the additional costs involved.
