Available to buy online in a choice of sizes, this timeless single metal gate is handmade in the UK from quality solid steel components and consists of a 20mm x 8mm flat bar welded framework with integral 10mm round infill bars. For added visual appeal, the Clifton design also incorporates ornate wrought iron style scrolls measuring 10mm x 3mm within the panel and on top of the horizontal rail. The gate has a black primed undercoat applied during manufacture and is ready to be painted before installation. It includes surface-mounted adjustable hinges and a simple latch mechanism making it perfect for DIY installation onto various appropriate surfaces such as timber/metal posts or existing masonry structures.

• Width (Fits Opening): These dimensions correspond to the distance between your existing posts or walls. These measurements already include the space required for the hinges and latch. No additional calculations are needed.

• Height (once installed): This is the measurement from ground level to the top of the horizontal framework. It includes a 50mm (2") gap for clearance at the bottom of the gate. This dimension has not incorporated the scrollwork above the top horizontal rail. 

Example Ordering Size

If the space between brickwork measures 3ft 3", you must select the gate that will fit an opening of 3ft 3".

Do You Need Metal Posts?

If there is no existing structure for the hinges or latch to be attached, you will need to add metal posts. Please be mindful that these components will take up more space.

Example: If you order a gate that fits an opening of 3ft 3" and utilize 2 x 2" posts, the total space required will become 3ft 7".

Fittings: This product comes supplied with hinges and the latch components as standard. We do not provide the bolts or screws you'll need to fasten these components to your chosen support structure properly.

Metal Posts: To provide the necessary support, you must ensure that your posts are the correct size and height. These components need to be fixed in the ground and strengthened with concrete.

Installation: Before you start the installation procedure, be sure the structure to which you are mounting the fittings can provide sufficient strength. Follow the installation instructions included with the product and only use appropriate fixings to secure the hinges and latch elements.

Width: The measures marked "fits opening" indicate the required size of the aperture or gap. These specifications have already included the space needed for the hinges and latch. Painting: The Clifton metal garden gate has a black undercoat that is factory primed. To avoid rust and oxidation, you must paint all surfaces before installation.
