Handmade in the UK, they have a solid steel 20mm x 8mm flat bar solid steel framework, 10mm round metal infill bars, and ornate 10mm x 3mm wrought iron style scrollwork. The gates contain a fitting pack containing surface-mounted adjustable hinges, a latch and an in-ground drop bolt.

• The steel surfaces are primed with black paint during their construction. Before installation, you will need to paint all exposed surfaces with a top coat of exterior-grade paint to protect against rust and corrosion.

Ordering Sizes

• Width (Fits opening): These measurements show the distance you need between your existing brickwork or posts. We have already included the space required for the hinges and latch in these proportions. You do not need to make any adjustments for these items.

• Height (once installed): This is measured vertically, from the ground to the top of the horizontal framework. This dimension includes a 50mm allowance for ground clearance. The height does not include the above-the-frame scrollwork.

Example Ordering Size

If the space between your masonry walls measures 3050mm, you must select the option that displays "fits opening 3050mm" from the drop-down menu.

Do You Need to Include Metal Posts?

You must add metal posts to mount the hinges without an existing support structure. Please keep in mind that if these components are needed, more room will be required.

Example: A total space of 3150mm is required when you purchase gates to "fit an opening of 3050mm" and 2 x 50mm posts.

Fittings: An in-ground drop bolt, surface-mounted adjustable hinges, and the latch fitting are all included with each pair of gates. The screws required for installation are not included with the hinge brackets.

Posts: If no masonry structure is available, appropriate metal posts are required to provide the requisite amount of support. If you choose in-ground posts, they need to be properly buried in the ground and supported with concrete.

Installation: The hinges may only be fastened to existing brickwork when the wall can hold the weight of the gates. Please review the installation instructions for further information.

Width: The "fits opening" dimensions shown in the menu reflect the dimension required for the opening between brickwork or posts. It doesn't indicate the product's actual physical width. Please read and comprehend the instructions on our "how to select the correct size" webpage if you are concerned about the size to order.

Painting: During construction, the Clifton Wrought Iron Style Estate Gates are coated with a black primer. You must paint all surfaces before installation to halt the development of rust and corrosion.
