It also benefits from an attractive arched top rail, a double row of fleur-de-ly finials, an eye-catching central plaque and ornate scrolls for a classical appearance. The provision of dog bars within the bottom half ensures pets and small children cannot escape onto the street. During manufacture, the gate is applied with a black undercoat paint and requires additional painting before you fit it. Suitable for DIY installations, the Royale Premier design includes a pair of surface-mounted adjustable hinges and an easy-to-secure latch mechanism compatible with masonry surfaces or metal and timber posts.

Ordering Sizes

• Width (Fits Opening): This dimension refers to the opening size required between brickwork, posts or other support structures. The space needed for the hinges and latch is included in the "fits opening" measurement; therefore, you do not need to make any additional adjustments for these items.

• Height (once installed): The measurement represents the distance from the ground to the top of the arch and incorporates a 50mm allowance (2") for ground clearance. The finials above the frame are excluded from this dimension.

Example Ordering Size

If the width of your entrance or the current gap between posts is 1070mm, you must select a gate constructed to fit an opening of 1070mm.

Are Metal Posts Needed?

If you are installing the gate in a location without existing supports for the hinges and latch, it will be necessary to add metal posts. Should these be required, you must note that you will need additional space.

Example: If you choose a gate to "fit an opening of 1070mm" and include 2 x 100mm metal posts, the overall space required will be 1270mm.
