• They are constructed to a market-leading standard using high-grade steel components.

• Manufactured from 20mm x 8mm flat bar steel frames, 10mm round infill bars and 10mm x 3mm scrolls.

• Supplied with surface mounted adjustable hinges (compatible with existing brickwork, timber or metal posts) and a standard tipping latch and drop bolt.

• Marlborough drive gates are primed black (undercoat) ready to be painted before installation (contact us for other finishes).

Ordering Sizes

• Width (Fits Opening): This refers to the opening size that the gates will fit. This measurement already includes the space needed for the hinges and latch fitting. You do not make any further allowances for these items. For clarity, this means that if your brickwork opening size is 9ft 6", you should order the gates to "fit opening 9ft 6".

• Height (once installed): This includes an allowance of 50mm (2") for ground clearance and has been measured from the ground to the top horizontal frame. The scrollwork above this is not included. 

Are Metal Posts Required? 

If you need to install metal posts, you need to factor in the additional space required for the components.

Example: The Marlborough double gates that "fit an opening" of 9ft 6" combined with 2 x 2" posts will require a total overall space of 9ft 10".

Useful Information About the Marlborough 3ft High Wrought Iron Style Gates

Fittings: We include surface mounted adjustable hinges with each pair of gates together with the latch fitting and in-ground drop bolt. The screws you will need to mount the hinge brackets are not provided.

Posts: If you are installing metal posts, they must be the correct size to give the required level of support. You must set in-ground posts with concrete.

Installation: You must only attach the hinges to existing brickwork (or other existing surfaces) on the basis that the structure can provide enough support to take the weight of the gates. For more details, please take a look at the installation guide.

Width: This is the size of the opening required and does not refer to the physical width of the product. Please click here if you are unsure what this means.

Painting: Marlborough driveway gates are primed black (undercoat). To protect the steel against rust and corrosion, you must paint all the exposed surfaces before installation. Alternatively, don't hesitate to get in touch with us if you would like to upgrade to the low maintenance zinc plated (electro galvanised) and black powder-coated paint finish.
