• They incorporate a lightweight 20mm x 8mm flat bar solid steel frame, 10mm round infill bars and 10mm x 3mm scrolls.

• Supplied with adjustable hinges (for surface mounting to existing brickwork, metal or wooden posts), latch and drop bolt.

• The steel surfaces are painted with a black primer undercoat. You will need to treat the gates with high-quality exterior grade paint before installation to protect against rust and corrosion.

Ordering Sizes

• Width (Fits opening): These dimensions indicate the opening size you will need between your existing brickwork or posts. These measurements already include the room required for the hinges and latch. You do not need to make any further adjustments for these elements.

• Height (once installed): This is measured from the ground to the top of the horizontal framework. An allowance of 50mm is included in this measurement to allow for ground clearance. The height excludes the scrollwork that is above the frame.

Example Ordering Size

If the gap between your masonry surfaces measures 2740mm, then you must select the option that displays "fits opening 2740mm" from the drop-down menu.

Do You Need to Install Metal Posts?

You must install metal posts to mount the hinges without an existing support structure. Please remember that additional space will be needed if these components are required.

Example: You will need a total space of 2840mm if you purchase gates to "fit an opening of 2740mm" and hang them on 2 x 50mm posts.

Important Information About the Buckingham Estate Gates 

Fittings: Each set of gates includes an in-ground drop bolt, surface-mounted adjustable hinges, and the latch fitting. The hinge brackets do not come with the screws needed for installation.

Posts: The appropriate metal posts are required to offer the necessary level of support if no masonry structure is present. If you select In-ground posts, these must be stabilized with concrete and placed at the proper depth into the ground.

Installation: Only when the structure can support the weight of the gates can the hinges be attached to existing brickwork (or other existing substrates). For further details, please refer to the installation instructions.

Width: The "fits opening" measurements displayed in the menu correspond to the opening size needed between brickwork or posts. It does not denote the physical width of the product. If you are unclear about which size to order, please read and fully understand the information on our "how to select the right size" webpage.

Painting: The Buckingham Estate Gates are painted with a black primer during construction. To prevent the onset of rust and corrosion, you must paint all surfaces before installation.
