• Monaco metal driveway gates have a black primer undercoat applied during manufacture. You must still paint them with a minimum of two coats of exterior grade paint before you install them.

Ordering Sizes

• Width (Fits Opening): The "fits opening" sizes in the menu correspond to the opening width needed between existing brickwork or posts. Within these measurements, we have already accounted for the space required for the hinges and latch. Consequently, no additional allowances need to be made for these items. To make it more straightforward, if the gap between your brick pillars is 10ft, you should order the gates to "fit opening" 10ft.

• Height (once installed): Within the height specifications, we have allowed a 50mm (2") gap for ground clearance. 

Do You Need to Buy Metal Posts?

If you need to buy metal posts, you'll need to ensure that the space taken up by these items is considered.

Example: The Monaco driveway gates that are manufactured to "fit an opening" of 10ft installed using 2 x 2" posts will necessitate a total overall space of 10ft 4".

Important Information Regarding the Monaco Driveway Gates 

Fittings: Each set of gates will come with a fitting pack that includes the hinges, latch, and drop bolt. We do not supply the screws you will require to secure the hinge brackets to the masonry or posts.

Posts: When installing metal posts, make sure they are the right type and size. They will need to be embedded in the ground and reinforced with concrete.

Installation: Only mount the hinges directly to the brickwork if you are confident that it can withstand the weight of the gates. Please refer to the installation instructions for further details.

Width: As previously stated, this is the opening size required between brickwork or posts. It does not correspond to the physical width of the gates. If you want additional clarification, please go here.

Painting: The Monaco metal driveway gates will be supplied primed black (undercoat). Before installation, you must paint all the surfaces to protect the steel from rust and corrosion.
