The 25mm x 25mm welded steel framework creates a robust and durable structure, reducing the risk of damage and providing peace of mind. The 12mm infill will prevent unwanted access to your property. Suitable for various applications around your property, installing the gate is made easy with the surface-mounted adjustable hinges and sliding latch mechanism. It's primed black with an undercoat during manufacture, so you must paint it before installation to protect it against rust and corrosion.

Ordering Sizes

• Width (Fits Opening): This is the width of the opening needed for the gate to fit. The space required for the hinges and latch is already included within these measurements. You do not need to make any further allowances for these elements.

• Height (once installed): This measurement incorporates an allowance of 50mm (2") for ground clearance. It is measured from floor level to the top of the horizontal framework. The scrolls located above the framework are not included within this dimension.

Example Ordering Size

If the opening width between your walls measures 991mm, you must select a gate designed to "fit an opening of 991mm".

Are Metal Posts Required?

You will need to install metal posts if no suitable masonry structure is available. Please note that if these items are required, additional space is required.

Example: A gate to fit an opening of 991mm combined with 2 x 80mm metal posts will require an overall width of 1151mm.

Important Information about the Windsor Tall Metal Side Gate

Fittings: We include a latch fitting and a pair of surface-mounted hinges. You must buy the mounting screws separately.

Metal Posts: It is important to use the correct size and type for your project. Wall mounted posts must be securely bolted to the brickwork and "in-ground" posts must be set into the ground with concrete.

Installation: You must ensure that the structure you are attaching your hinge or latch to can support the weight of your gate. Please also refer to the installation instructions for further information about fitting the gate.

Width: Please note that the sizes shown in the menu refer to the opening size the gate will fit into and already includes the space needed for the hinges and latch. It does not indicate the physical width of the product. Please read our guide detailing how to select the right size if you do not understand this.

Painting: We recommend painting your Windsor metal side gate with tough, corrosion-resistant paint before your installation (applicable to the primed option only). Alternatively, you can upgrade to the zinc-plated and black powder-coated paint treatment for an additional charge.
