Ordering Sizes

• Width: This is the actual opening size you will need between your existing brickwork or posts. The "fits opening" measurement is shown in the menu above and already includes the space taken up by the hinges and latch; therefore, you should not make any further allowances for these items. For clarity, if the gap you currently have is 9ft, you should order the gates that "fit opening 9ft". 

• Height: This is the measurement from the bottom of the frame to the highest point. We have not included any ground clearance necessary when you install the gates. 

Do You Require Metal Posts? 

If existing brickwork (or other appropriate support structure) is unavailable, you must utilise metal posts. When selecting these items, it is essential to note that you will require additional space.

Example: The Regent double gates that "fit an opening" of 9ft combined with 2 x 2" posts will require a total overall space of 9ft 4".

Useful Information About the Regent Metal Driveway Gates

Fittings: We include easy to install surface-mounted hinges, simple latch fitting, and drop bolt as standard. Fixings for attaching the hinge brackets to brickwork or posts are not supplied.

Posts: If you need to install metal posts, these should be of the appropriate size to support the gates and must be set into the ground using concrete.

Installation: Any existing support structure must be capable of taking the weight of the gates. You should only use fixings appropriate for the surface you fit onto. All products are sold on a supply only basis. For more information refer to the installation guide.

Width: This is the size of the opening required (click here for clarification). It does not refer to the physical width of the gates.
