They are intended to provide optimal strength and durability while being reasonably priced. These traditional double metal driveway gates are made by hand in the UK using premium steel materials. An elegant arch top rail, fleur-de-lys finials offset to the vertical 16mm tube infill bars, and a 25mm x 25mm box section framework are all included. The gates come with several parts, including surface-mounted adjustable hinges, wall-mounted brackets, a latch mechanism, and a drop bolt, making them ideal for simple DIY installation. The steel surfaces are primed with a black primer as they are being fabricated, so you will need to paint them before installing them to guarantee good weather resistance.

Ordering Sizes

• Width (Fits Opening): Please use the drop-down menu at the top of the page to select the size you require. Please note that the dimensions depict the opening size needed for the gates to fit. We have already included the necessary space for the hinge and latch components in these measurements. There is no requirement for additional calculations.

• Height (once installed): This is measured vertically, from the ground to the top of the horizontal frame. The finials welded on top of the frame are not included in the height. It incorporates a ground clearance allowance of 50mm.

Example Ordering Size

The width option "fits opening 2600mm" must be chosen from the drop-down menu when the distance between your brickwork, posts, or other existing support structure is 2600mm.

Do You Need to Include Metal Posts?

If you need to add metal posts because of the absence of a suitable support structure, keep in mind that these components will require extra space.

Example: If you choose "fits opening 2600mm" and incorporate 2 x 100mm metal posts, the overall space requirement will become 2800mm.

Fittings: We include a latch fitting, surface-mounted adjustable hinges, and an in-ground drop bolt with each pair of gates. We do not provide you with the screws required for installation.

Posts: You must use suitable metal posts if a masonry support structure is absent. If you opt for in-ground posts, you must set them to the appropriate depth and support them with concrete.

Installation: You should only attach the hinges to any existing brickwork if it can withstand the extra weight of the gates. For additional details, please refer to the installation instructions.

Width: The "fits opening" measurements specified in the menu denote the opening size required between your walls or supports. It does not depict the physical width of the product. If you are confused about what size to order, please read our "how to pick the appropriate size" guide.

Painting: The Hampton 7ft High Wrought Iron Style Estate Gates are delivered to you with a black primed undercoat applied. To prevent the formation of rust and corrosion, all surfaces must be painted before installation.
