The Gloucester 4ft High Wooden Garden Gate is perfect for period properties and country cottages. Handmade in the UK, the gate features mortise and tenon joints for strength, whilst the three horizontal and single diagonal brace on the back face prevents the timber twisting. Utilising vertical tongue and groove boards set within a heavy-duty framework, the open pale sections at the top of the gate give a timeless appeal. Available to order online in various sizes, it will suit many locations, including front paths, entrances to gardens or any other area where improved privacy and security are required.

• 70mm x 70mm mortise and tenon jointed frames and 95mm x 14mm tongue and groove boards.

• Attractive pale sections to the top area of the gate add character.

• Designed to be right-hand hanging (as viewed from the front face of the gate).

• Supplied in a smooth planed timber finish ready for painting or staining.

• The number of pales (open sections at the top) will vary according to the width selected.

Useful Information About the Gloucester 4ft High Wooden Garden Gate

Fittings: The 4ft High Gloucester design is not supplied with the hinges or latch included as standard. If you would like to purchase these items, you will need to select the appropriate fitting pack from the menu above.

Posts: We recommend wooden gates are installed onto appropriately sized timber posts which are available to purchase at the same time as the gate. If wall mounting the posts, you will need to use suitable bolts (not supplied). Freestanding posts will need to be set into concrete to a depth of around 600mm - 900mm depending on ground conditions. To ensure adequate room is left for expansion of the timber, the gap formed between the posts should be 20mm wider than the width of the gate.

Finish: To ensure optimum durability of the timber and to avoid rotting and decay, all wood surfaces should be stained or painted prior to installation.

Installation: We recommend the Gloucester gate is installed using hook and band hinges. For best results, they should be fitted to the to the horizontal rails to ensure proper levels of support is achieved. For more information feel free to refer to our installation guide.
