Corfe Wrought Iron Gate Secures Cardiff Garden

Located in Cardiff the owner of this 1930`s large detached property was looking for an effective way to improve security to the side of their house at the point where the path runs to their back garden from the driveway. After a spate of break in`s to the surrounding properties they did not want to become another crime statistic so came to Garden Gates Direct looking for an effective solution.

Client Brief

The homeowner was looking for a heavy-duty gate that would act as a strong physical security barrier to the side access point of the home. Furthermore, to prevent anyone climbing over the gate the client wanted the design to feature pointed finials.

Garden Gates Direct Proposal

Having listened to the clients concerns and requirements we offered the Royal Talisman, Royal Ascot, Balmoral and Corfe designs to choose from. These are all made with our heavier duty steel specification and incorporate a sliding latch mechanism that can easily be secured with a padlock when access is not required. In addition to this each of the designs feature fleur-de-lys finials which feature the spear type design the client was looking for.

Following on from this and having established that the opening was quite large and was formed between the house wall and a fence it was also recommended that a metal post would need to be set into the ground in concrete to provide an adequate means of hanging the gate.

Lastly, to ensure the minimal amount of maintenance would be required we also recommended that the gate and post both have a zinc plated (electro galvanised) and black powder coated paint finish.

Order Details

After considering the options available and listening to our advice the customer selected the following items.

•             1 x Corfe Metal Side Gate (with a zinc plated and powder coated finish)

•             1 x Square Metal Post (100mm x 100mm due to the weight of the gate finished as per above)
