Vertifleur Wooden Side Gate | 6ft High

The Vertifleur Wooden Side Gate is handmade in the UK from slow-grown Scandinavian Redwood and comes supplied as standard in a smooth planed finish making it ideal for painting or staining to the colour of your choice. With a combination of timber and metal components, the gate has a 70mm thick mortise and tenon jointed frame, horizontal rails, and diagonal bracing to help prevent twisting and sagging. The bottom portion of the gate has an inset tongue and groove panel that sits flush with the frame, whilst the open panel top section benefits from black primed (undercoat) metal infill bars for a contrasting appearance. The top horizontal rail has fleur-de-lys finials for improved aesthetics and security. Available in a choice of sizes, the Vertifleur gate design is robust, stylish, and practical and, as a result, offers exceptional value for money when compared to similar designs in metal or wrought iron.

Useful Information About the Vertifleur Wooden Gate

Fittings: If you need to order the hinges and latch, please choose the appropriate fitting pack from the options and accessories menu detailed above.

Posts: We always recommend the gate be installed using wooden posts. You can add these to your order by selecting the relevant products from the drop-down menu. If you plan to attach the posts to an existing wall, then suitable sized bolts should be used (not included). Where no existing support structure is available, the posts should be set into the ground to a depth of around 600mm – 900mm depending upon ground conditions. For both applications, the gap created should be 20mm wider than the width of the gate you have ordered. This will then allow for expansion of the timber and ensure sufficient space is available for the free movement of the hinges and latch.

Finish: The Vertifleur design is constructed from untreated smooth planed timber. To protect against wood rot and decay, it is essential that all exposed surfaces are stained or painted prior to installation and prior to attaching and gate furniture.

Installation: Only hook and band type hinges should be used for installation. For the best level of support, they should be mounted to the top and bottom horizontal rails. For more guidance, please refer to the installation guide.
