Useful Information About the Vertifleur Wooden Estate Gates

Width Dimensions: To select the size, please refer to the options shown in the drop-down menu. The width dimensions shown relate to the total width of the pair of gates (when placed next to each other). For clarity, this means that each pair comprises of the following:

• 7ft pair = 2 x 3ft 6”

• 8ft pair = 2 x 4ft

• 9ft pair = 2 x 4ft 6”

• 10ft pair = 2 x 5ft

• 11ft pair = 2 x 5ft 6”

• 12ft pair = 2 x 6ft

Height Dimension: This is measured from the underside of the gates to the top of the vertical stiles. This measurement does not include the amount of space you will need to allow for ground clearance.

Fittings: If you would like to order a fitting pack (containing the hinges, latch, and drop-bolt), please select from the options and accessories menu at the top of the page.

Posts: We recommend using wooden posts to fit the gates for ease of installation. When installing between an existing masonry structure (such as brickwork), the use of wall-mounted posts is an acceptable solution. Alternatively, for freestanding installations, wooden posts will need to be set into the ground and be supported using concrete. In both cases, the gap you create needs to be 40mm wider than the physical width of the gates you order. This additional space will ensure adequate room for the hinges and latch.

Finish: The timber used to manufacture the Vertifleur design is smooth planed Scandinavian Redwood. Therefore, it is essential that all exposed surfaces are stained or painted before you install the gates.

Installation: You should only use hook and band-type hinges to fit the gates. you should fix the hinges to the horizontal top and bottom rails for optimum support. You can find more information about this if you refer to the installation guide.
