Manufactured in the UK, the gate is constructed to an industry-leading standard using slow-grown Scandinavian Redwood. It has a smooth, planed surface ready for painting or staining to your required finish. The gate is robust, rigid and built to last. It features a 70mm thick framework, mortise and tenon joints, 3 x horizontal rails and heavy-duty diagonal bracing. The top open section includes a black primed metal infill panel featuring a decorative cage detail to the centre bar for enhanced visual appeal. The bottom portion has vertical tongue and groove boards that fit flush with the outer framework.

Useful Information About the Salisbury Wooden Gate

Fittings: Please note the hinges and latch are not included as standard. If you would like to order these items, please choose the appropriate fitting pack from the menu above.

Posts: We recommend that the Salisbury gate design is installed using wooden posts (available to order from the menu above). Where wall mounted posts are to be used, they will need to be secured to any existing masonry structure using suitable fixings (not supplied). For freestanding installations, the posts will need to be set into the ground to a depth of approximately 600-900mm depending on ground conditions and be supported with concrete. In either instance, to allow for expansion of the timber and to ensure adequate room is available for the hinges and latch to operate free from obstruction, the gap formed between the posts should be 20mm wider than the physical width of the gate.

Finish: To protect the timber from rot and decay, it is essential that all wooden surfaces are stained or painted prior to installation.

Installation: The use of hook and band type hinges is recommended when installing the gate. For optimum levels of support, they should be mounted to the horizontal rails and secured in place using suitable screws. For more information refer to the installation guide.
