The 4ft High Buxton Wooden Garden Gate is a beautifully hand-crafted design that captures the essence of a bygone era. It is manufactured from smooth planed Scandinavian Redwood and features a 70mm thick mortise and tenon jointed framework, 3 x horizontal rails and 1 x diagonal bracing on the rear face. The solid tongue and groove-boarded panel in the bottom portion, combined with an open section at the top which includes vertical and diagonal timbers, creates a timeless appeal. Useful Information About the Buxton Wooden Gate

Fittings: The Buxton design is not supplied with the hinges or latch included as standard. If you would like to purchase these items, please select the appropriate size fitting pack from the options and accessories menu shown above.

Posts: For ease of installation, we recommend the gate is installed using wooden posts (available to order above). If you are mounting the posts to a wall, they will need to be secured to existing masonry using appropriate fixings (not included). Freestanding posts will need to be set into the ground to a depth of around 600-900mm and supported with concrete. In either instance, it is important to note that the gap formed between the posts should be 20mm wider than the width of the gate. This is to ensure adequate space is available for expansion of the timber and sufficient room is left for the hinges and latch to operate without binding.

Finish: The timber used in the construction of this gate is not treated with any form of preservative. It is therefore essential that all exposed wood surfaces are stained or painted prior to installation to prevent the onset of rot or decaying of the timber.

Installation: The Buxton design should be installed using appropriate size hook and band hinges. For best results the hinges should be fixed to the horizontal rails as this will ensure the maximum level of support is achieved. For more information refer to our installation guide.
