• Construction materials include 10mm metal infill bars, 10mm x 3mm ornamental scrolls, and 20mm x 8mm welded metal frames. 

• The Marlborough design incorporates surface-mounted adjustable hinges and a latch mechanism which you can secure with a padlock. 

• You can install the hinges on the left or right-hand side of the opening.

• The gate has a factory-applied undercoat and is primed in black. Before installation, you must paint all metal surfaces with a minimum of two coats of exterior-grade paint to prevent rust and corrosion.

Ordering Sizes

• Width (Fits Opening): This measurement refers to the size of the gap needed between existing brickwork or posts. These dimensions already include the space required for the hinges and latch; therefore, you do not need to make any other adjustments.

• Height (once installed): This is from the ground to the top of the arch. A 50mm (2") allowance for ground clearance is incorporated into this measurement.

Example Ordering Size

If your existing brickwork opening is 1070mm, you must order a gate designed to "fit an opening of 1070mm".

Are Metal Posts Required?

You will be required to install metal posts if there isn't any support for the hinges or latch. Remember that these components will take up additional space when making your purchase.

Example: A gate to fit an opening of 1070mm combined with 2 x 50mm posts will require an overall width of 1170mm.

Fittings: The gate components include an easy-to-install tip latch fitting and surface-mounted adjustable hinges. The mounting screws are not included in the fitting pack supplied.

Metal Posts: For the best support, use only metal posts that are suitable in size and strength. During installation, ensure these parts are buried at the appropriate depth and supported by concrete.

Installation: If any posts or masonry structures are already in place, only attach the hinges to them if they are sturdy enough to sustain the weight of the gate. For further details, please refer to the installation manual.

Width: The "fits opening" size indicated in the menu corresponds to the gap size needed for the gate to fit correctly and includes the space necessary for the hinges and latch. It doesn't refer to the gate's physical width.
